Sabrina Maren founded NuMe in 2009 with hopes of bringing millions of people quality hair care products. Her vision was to provide heat styling tools that provide users salon quality results right at home. Judging by the large success NuMe has had since its founding (over 2 million customers worldwide), I’d have to say she’s succeeded.

I wanted to review one of NuMe’s top-selling straighteners myself to see what all the hype is about. I decided to go with the NuMe Vanguard, especially after reading about all its bells and whistles online.

Keep reading to learn what I discovered after testing out the NuMe Vanguard Hair Straightener.

Who is the NuMe Vanguard Straightener For?

The Vanguard Straightener is safe for all hair types, therefore, it’s a good pick for just about anyone. The 100% tourmaline ceramic plates gently glided through my hair without tugging or pulling – I can only imagine it will do the same for you!

One great feature I love about this straightener is the negative ion technology. This technology basically releases negative ions into the hair. These ions fight positively charged ones that cause flyaways and frizzy hair. Pretty cool, right?

What Makes This Hair Straightener Special?

If you’re going for classy, the Vanguard comes in a sleek black color with stunning rose gold accents. The plates are 100% tourmaline ceramic which is gentle on your hair. The plates offer temperature controls of 190ºF-450ºF (90º-230ºC). I did notice that it heats up quickly, perfect for those days when I’m a bit rushed.

You will also save time with the Smart Memory Function. Basically, how this works is the NuMe Vanguard remembers the last heat setting used. When you turn it back on, it will keep it at this heat setting, so you don’t have to set it again. I haven’t seen this feature in many hair irons. It was well noted and appreciated!

Another great feature that makes this hot tool special is the long, flexible cord. It comes with a 6 ft 10 in long cord, ideal if the outlet is awkwardly placed somewhere and you need to get in front of a mirror.

Why Should I Buy This Straightener?

If you’re someone that travels a lot or is crunched on time, this is a great hair tool for you. It heats up quickly, the Smart Memory Function remembers your last heat setting, and if you travel a lot, you’ll enjoy the lightweight construction of 0.75 lbs. Yes, this straightener weighs under a pound!

Accidentally left your tool on while rushing out the door? You can program it to turn off automatically after 30 to 120 minutes of inactivity. I set mine to turn off after 45 minutes since I’m one of those people that tends to forget!

The final thing I will say is that this hair straightener is designed with a no-slip grip design. I love it when it comes to straightening, but while curling my hair (yes, it can curl too!), it feels less secure. It has never slipped out of my hand, but I don’t feel as secure using it while curling. This is probably due to the lightweight design, but just something for you to keep in mind!

Our Verdict

If you’re someone who wants to straighten your hair quickly while eliminating all frizz, the NuMe Vanguard Hair Straightener will work wonders. You even have the option to curl your hair making this a nice 2-in-1 hot tool.

Overall, I’d highly recommend the NuMe Vanguard. I’m sure you’ll be as happy with it as I am! Try it for yourself today and experience breathtakingly straight hair all day long.
