Full Review
Cut your drying time literally in half with this innovative hairdryer, equipped with advanced technology allowing you to fine-tune all aspects of its functionality. Users can adjust speed, power, heat and even the levels of negative ions emitted, with precision controls. Create a completely custom style with this fully customizable dryer.
Infinity Airflow Dial – Speed and Heat
The airflow dial is an industry innovation. You no longer have to choose between two or three heat settings, as is the standard. Instead, the Instyler BLU dryer features a smart dial so that you can adjust airflow to the exact speed for you. No more only having the choice between ‘hurricane’ or ‘light breeze’ settings!
This is a really positive addition to the dryer, though is offset by the inclusion of only two heat settings. It seems heat was compromised for airflow settings in this model, which is very disappointing as heat in a hairdryer is practically the most important function.
As a result, many consumer reports show that customers found these settings made their dryer either too hot or too cold. Usually dryers have three heat settings – to have only two is a big minus point against its rating. The model does have a cool shot button, however, allowing you to still produce superior style hold and shine after drying.
Turbo Ionic Technology
The InStyler BLU Turbo Ionic Dryer contains its very own ionic generator. It produces its own negative ions for smoother, sleeker hair – but that’s not the most impressive feature. This dryer also lets you ADJUST the amount of ions emitted, for the best quality blow dry possible. The brand says that negative ions interacting with wet hair transforms large water droplets into micro-beads, meaning your hair dries much faster and looks amazing when it’s done. You’re left with lustrous locks that look premium and feel silky soft. Who wouldn’t set theirs to full blast?
Hair Type
The negative ion content in this dryer will produce natural sleek straight hair, or delightfully bouncy natural curls, depending on which hair type you have.
InStyler recommend pointing your dryer at a 45-degree angle (upwards, from underneath the hair) to get the most out of your natural curls. This will increase volume and perfect your beautiful ringlets.
For straight hair in need of a boost, you can use the concentrator nozzle provided when you buy an InStyler BLU. Point this ‘up and under’ your roots and parting as you dry. For a sleek straightened effect, point the nozzle down from the roots of the hair and use a comb as you dry.
Our Verdict
This is a uniquely multi-faceted dryer with an attractive design – check out the amazing geometric effect and the striking blue color of its fan. The design is the least of why we recommend it though. It’s amazing for getting your hair primed for curling or straightening, or simply drying hair to look its best naturally.
The one-of-a-kind airflow dial and ionic level adjuster makes this dryer well worth the price. In fact, we think it’s under-priced for such a great product. Its only downfall is the very limited heat settings – we recommend using the lowest heat you can stand though.
Overall, this is a product we would certainly choose ourselves when purchasing a hairdryer.
