How many times wash hair in a week?

It is generally recommended to wash your hair 2-3 times a week.
Why is this? Well, the answer lies in the composition of our hair. Hair consists of three layers: an inner layer called the medulla, a middle layer known as the cortex, and finally an outer cuticle layer which protects it from environmental damage.

The cuticle layer is comprised of overlapping scales that look like tiles on a roof. When we wash our hair too often or use harsh soaps and shampoos, these scales become raised like little “hills” on your head instead of laying flat. This makes your hair more prone to breakage due to increased friction between hairs when they are being brushed or styled. It can also make it difficult for oils produced by our scalp to reach all parts of the strand resulting in dryness and split ends over time if left unchecked.

Also, washing your hair every day will strip away natural oils that help keep it healthy and nourished from root to tip; ultimately leading to damaged locks with no shine or luster thanks to lack of moisture retention. So how often should you be washing your tresses? Generally speaking two-three times per week should provide enough cleansing without causing damage while still allowing some time for those necessary oils build up at roots and tips each day keeping them looking their best!
