How do you wash your hair after a serum?

After applying a serum, I usually rinse my hair with cold water and then shampoo and condition as normal.
Cold water is an essential part of this process for a few reasons.

First, cold water helps to close the cuticle layer of your hair shaft. The cuticle layer is essentially like a series of scales which overlap each other down the length of your hair strands and help protect it from damage. When you apply heat or shampoo to your hair, these scales can be opened up, leading to more moisture loss and potential breakage. Cold water helps seal those overlapping scales back together so that they can provide better protection against future damage-causing elements such as heat styling tools and product buildup in between washes.

Second, cold rinsing also has some benefits when it comes to scalp health as well. Hot temperatures tend cause inflammation on our skin which may lead to irritation, itching and redness – none of which are desirable results when it comes to keeping our scalps healthy! By using colder temperatures instead we decrease our chances of experiencing such negative effects while still maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards due by washing away sweat and dirt from the day’s activities .

Lastly, cold rinsing also aids us in preserving natural oils produced by our scalps that keep both the scalp itself healthy as well as contribute positively towards keeping our overall hair looking shiny without appearing greasy or weighed down with too much product use over time- something we all want right? Not only does cold rinse help maintain a balance here but additionally provides extra shine because cold water causes light reflections off each strand making them appear shinier than before!
