Full Review

If you have masses of thick hair, you probably dread ‘hair wash day’. Settling down to the mammoth task of blow drying your hair, even after towel drying, can take up to an hour and involve a whole collection of products and tools. If this sounds like you – then you might want to take a look at the RUSK Engineering W8Less Professional hairdryer.

Lightweight Ceramic

This dryer is crafted out of extremely lightweight ceramic, and weighs in at just 1lb. That’s extraordinary for a hairdryer containing complex mechanics; and makes it all the more suitable for people who spend a long time drying. It will cause less strain on your wrist when holding the product aloft for a long time. (The W8Less Professional gains bonus points for significantly reducing your drying time as well!)

Advanced Technology

The inclusion of far-infrared heat technology means that your dryer technically dries your hair from the inside out. Don’t be scared – this means that there’s less concentration of heat on the delicate top layer of each hair strand, helping to keep your hair in healthy condition. Make sure you fully protect your hair before subjecting it to heat by using protectant spray or serum. (This goes for any kind of heat – blow drying, straightening, and yes, even just when it’s hot and sunny outside!)

Heat and Speed

The 7 heat and speed settings on this dryer mean you can adjust your dry to however you like it. The cool shot button ensures you can ‘set’ your style. Simply hold down the button and blast cold air all over your hair after drying to get a lustrous shiny finish and a longer hold on your look. Spritz with hairspray and you’re good to go!

Extras

This dryer comes with a detachable concentrator nozzle, for a more precise and volumizing blow dry. Attach the nozzle and point it upwards from underneath the hair at the root to create volume and lift. This goes for all kinds of hair, though may take a little longer to achieve if you have coarse thick hair.

Value for Money?

The cons of this product come into play when some customer reviews say that their dryer did not last for very long. Some reported that for the price they paid, they expected their dryer to perform at full functionality for longer. Most affirm that they love their W8Less Professional; but there will always be a few defective products especially in the electrical market. As well as this, unfortunately this dryer is only available in the USA and Canada.

Our Verdict

Despite these points, we recommend this product to anyone who has a hard-to-dry mane of hair, and those who are easily bored with blow drying and general styling. This extremely lightweight model is a fabulous choice for people whose hair takes an age to dry, as you’ll barely feel like you’re carrying anything in your hand. We all know the familiar arm ache when your damp hair is taking too long to dry! With the RUSK Engineering W8Less Professional hairdryer, you’ll be ready to leave the house or hit the hay after your hair-wash in a few short minutes.
