Full Review

BaByliss are the beloved, international haircare brand loved by teenagers and women alike. They create innovative new hairstyling products, that look fun and function like a dream. In my opinion, they’re the perfect introduction to haircare products for young people or newcomers to styling: straightforward to use, easy to handle, cute to look at, and with all the safety precautions that are necessary when using heat.

The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron is no exception. It’s an eye-catching, lightweight flat iron perfect for taking on your travels, or simply keeping on your dressing table at home.

Its sky blue casing isn’t the only attractive thing about it – this small straightener packs a punch with heat. This is great for those with stubbornly textured hair, but not entirely suitable for those who just want a straightener for casual styling purposes. Luckily, there are a huge range of heat controls on this tool, which we’ll explain more about in this review. Use your BaBylissPRO Nano with care for your hair, and you’ll have silky straight tresses or adorable ringlets in an instant.

Multi-Styling

The BaBylissPRO Nano’s ultra-thin plates make curling almost easier than straightening with this product! (Choose a straightener equipped with wide, long plates for quicker straightening – although these can be cumbersome and hard to control, and are no good for use as a curling iron.) However, being a pocket rocket is part of what’s so great about this tool. Its lightweight, rucksack-sized presentation makes it a perfect all-in-one styler that won’t take up all your luggage, and you can easily nestle in a drawer when not in use.

Titanium Plates

Feather-light but hard as steel, titanium is the dream material for straightening plates… Until they get too hot. It’s a dream metal for being reliable, durable and a magnificent heat conductor, but this can be a bit harsh on pre-damaged hair and people with fine strands.

It’s the same case for every hair straightener, but something few people actually do: do not use the top heat! In this case, the BaBylissPRO Nano reaches temperatures of a shocking 450°F, far too hot for all hair types. Make sure you reduce your heat setting before getting to work on your look.

Super-Advanced Heat Controls

Fortunately, the BaBylissPRO Nano flat iron features a heat control system that offers up to 50 settings – this is a huge thumbs up. Here at HHBeauty, we rarely see a styling iron that offers such a diverse temperature adjustment system. We champion this feature, as we know how (ourselves included) users often don’t bother with using heat protection precautions when styling our hair.

Voltage

The lightweight material used for this flat iron is disappointingly offset by its US voltage standard. This means you probably shouldn’t plug it in if you take it abroad – it could blow the fuse.

Our Verdict

This is a nifty little tool, though with its temperatures reaching off the thermostat, it could be too hot to handle. If you choose this product, be sure to reduce its temperature using the sophisticated heat control system. This is a great flat iron for anyone looking for a small, perfectly functional multi-purpose styling iron, as long as you remember to turn the heat down.
